Child Safety Policy

Last updated: May 6, 2026

1. Overview

Heartline is a cross-language communication and dating application designed exclusively for adults. The safety and well-being of children is of paramount importance to us. This Child Safety Policy describes the measures we take to prevent minors from accessing our platform and to protect children from harm.

2. Age Requirement

Heartline is intended solely for users who are 18 years of age or older. Users under the age of 18 are strictly prohibited from creating an account or using any feature of the Service.

By registering for an account, users represent and warrant that they are at least 18 years old. If we discover or have reason to believe that a user is under 18, we will immediately suspend and permanently delete their account and all associated data.

3. Age Verification

We implement the following measures to verify user age and prevent minors from accessing the platform:

  • Date of birth is required at registration and verified against our minimum age policy.
  • Accounts that cannot be verified as belonging to an adult are suspended pending review.
  • We use risk-based signals to detect accounts that may belong to minors.

4. Prohibited Content Involving Minors

Heartline has a strict zero-tolerance policy toward any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors. The following are strictly prohibited on our platform:

  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) of any kind.
  • Content that grooms, solicits, or attempts to exploit minors.
  • Communication with or solicitation of minors for sexual purposes.
  • Sharing, distributing, or linking to any material that depicts minors in a sexual context.
  • Any content that facilitates trafficking or abuse of children.

Violations will result in immediate and permanent account termination, and we will report confirmed cases to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement authorities.

5. Content Moderation

We employ a combination of automated systems and human review to detect and remove content that may involve or endanger minors:

  • Automated scanning of images and media shared through the platform.
  • AI-based detection of grooming patterns and suspicious behavioral signals.
  • Proactive review of flagged accounts and content by our Trust & Safety team.
  • Hash-matching technology to identify known CSAM using industry-standard databases.

6. Reporting Mechanisms

All users have the ability to report content or accounts that they believe involve a minor or pose a threat to child safety. Reports can be submitted directly through the in-app reporting feature available on every profile and conversation.

Every report related to child safety is reviewed with priority by our Trust & Safety team within 24 hours. We take all such reports seriously and act swiftly to investigate and remediate.

7. Cooperation with Authorities

Heartline is committed to cooperating fully with law enforcement agencies and relevant regulatory bodies in investigations involving child safety. In cases where we identify or receive credible reports of CSAM or child exploitation, we will:

  • Immediately remove the offending content and suspend the associated account.
  • Preserve relevant evidence in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Report the incident to NCMEC via the CyberTipline, as required by U.S. federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A).
  • Cooperate with law enforcement requests and legal process.

8. Data Deletion for Minors

If we determine that a user is under 18, all personal data associated with their account will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws, including COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) where applicable.

9. Education & Awareness

We are committed to educating our users about online safety. Our community guidelines clearly communicate the rules regarding child safety, and we provide resources within the app to help users identify and report suspicious behavior.
